 | St. John’s School offers extensive opportunities for students to explore Visual Arts, Drama and Music through courses and co-curricular programmes. Our specialized teachers are passionate about their subject area and dedicated to sharing their craft.
Junior School students are introduced to Visual Arts and Music in the classroom by specialist teachers. Each year, the Kindergarten through Grade 3 students perform a musical in the spring. The Beginner Strings Ensemble and Honours Band are co-curricular opportunities for students to experience collaborative music and performance.

"If someone were to ask me two years ago whether or not the IB DP Visual Art programme is difficult, I would have said that Art is the easiest subject in the International Baccalaureate programme. However, after finishing this course, I can proudly say that I have conquered one of the most demanding, strenuous, and rewarding programs. (...) I would never exchange this experience for any other."
-Laura Tsai, Grade 12 |

The emphasis of the IB DP Visual Arts programme is to challenge students to think out-of-the-box and create thought-provoking art pieces while incorporating fundamental rules of design and elements of art.
This challenging and demanding course provides an intellectually rigorous, studio-based experience.
