|  | St. John's School is an independent school. Independent schools are not-for-profit organizations led by a Board of Governors. The Governors are volunteers who are elected at the annual general meeting of the SJS St. John's School Society. Parents of St. John's School students are members of the school's society.

David Dale-Johnson, Board Chair | David Dale-Johnson has been on the Board since September 2007. He and his wife live in Kitsilano, and have twin daughters. David was born in Vancouver and, after many years in Southern California, returned to live in the area five years ago. He is a professor of urban economics and real estate finance. |  | |
| Anu Khanna is a lawyer, who was called to the bar in 1991, and practices exclusively in the area of personal injury. He has participated in, and been a member on, a number of boards. Previously, he served on the board of the Parkinson’s Society of Canada, and as a Board Director and President on the Parkinson’s Society of BC. Since 1997, he has been an executive member of the Trial Lawyers’ Association of BC. Anu is a parent with two daughters in the Junior School. Anu was elected to the Board in December 2007 and is Chair of the Advancement Committee. |
| Doris Orr is a chartered accountant and works as SVP Project Director for XL Capital, an insurance company based in Bermuda. Her role is one of mediating equitable win/win solutions for which she is then responsible for delivering. She previously spent 10 years at KPMG both in Vancouver and New Zealand. She has extensive international business experience and shares this with others through international speaking engagements and mentoring staff and university students. Doris’ son is in the Junior School at St. John’s. |
| Shiuman and his wife have two children at St. John’s School. Shiuman has previously volunteered for St. John’s Golf Tournament Committee, and has served on the Finance Committee since 2007. Since 2003, he has been a director of the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain. A civil engineer by training, Shiuman holds a Masters in Business Administration from the London Business School, and works in the investment industry. He has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK. |
| Martin is currently chair of the Strategic Planning Committee at St. John’s School. Martin and his wife have lived in Vancouver for over 25 years. His son is in the Senior School at SJS. At St. John Ambulance, Martin holds the dual responsibility of National Chief Information Officer and Chief Development Officer in BC Council. He is also Chair of the InspireHealth Foundation Board, a Vancouver-based Integrated Cancer Care Centre. |
| Sonny is a partner of a venture capital firm based in Vancouver. His firm specializes in the areas of providing merchant banking and private equity to start-up companies seeking eventual listings on a public exchange. He has been an active member of the Golf Tournament Committee at St. John’s and has been part of the community since 2003. Sonny and his wife have two children at the school. |
| Lana Li and her husband have a son at St. John's School. Lana has been practicing as a lawyer for over 20 years in the areas of commercial litigation, family law, and defense personal injury. She was also an adjunct professor of the UBC Faculty of Law, teaching a law course, while practicing law. Lana was an elected member of the Canadian Bar Association, Vancouver County, for a number of years and served on a number of CBA Committees. She was also a Director of the Continuing Legal Education Society for two terms, serving on its Executive Committee for most of her terms. Lana is currently a member of the Executive of the Women Lawyers Forum and serves on the St. John’s Committee on Governors. |
| Joanna Lu has a son at St. John's School. While working overseas in Taiwan, she was VP Head of Global Market Derivatives Operations for Deutsche Bank, Senior Advisor on banking reforms at ING Bank, and Senior Manager at KPMG covering international banks. She is an active volunteer at St. John’s School. Joanna attended elementary school in China and secondary school and university in Vancouver. |
| Dan McCallum has two children at St. John's. His family has been active in the school since 2000. He is currently serving on the Committee on Governors and has served on the Marketing Committee. His previous engineering and marketing roles were at IBM and Motorola, and most recently as VP of a successful local high technology company. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. Dan was born and raised in Vancouver. |
| Anna Milino and her husband Dennis Janzen have two children at St. John's School. Oscar is in Grade 10 and Lewis is in Grade 9. The family has been at SJS for 5 years. Anna has served as a class parent. She was the coordinator of a non-profit preschool for two years as well as a coordinator for Kerrisdale Soccer. Anna has a career as an ultrasound technologist, including teaching and administrative responsibilities. Anna has a wide range of outdoor sports and adventure interests, including hiking, climbing, road cycling, open-water swimming, and back country skiing. |
| Terrence Turner and his wife have two children in the Senior School at St. John’s. Terrence has served on the society’s Marketing Committee for the past two years and currently serves on the Strategic Plan Committee. He has also served on a number of non-profit boards, including the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company and the Bellingham Festival of Music. Trained as a lawyer, Terrence has been working in the film and television industry as a producer, director and writer for more than fifteen years. |
| Bruce Verchere has three boys that joined St John's School in 2008: twins Toby and Graham in Grade 4 and Wyatt in Grade 9. Bruce is a diabetes researcher at BC Children's Hospital, where his wife Cindy is a pediatric plastic surgeon. Bruce is director of the Diabetes Research Program at the Child & Family Research Institute and a professor in the UBC Department of Surgery where he holds the Irving K Barber Chair in Diabetes Research. He has volunteered as a board member and coach for Little Mountain Little League for the past 10 years, including three years as president. He is currently chair of the National Research Council for the Canadian Diabetes Association and chair of the Research Advisory Council for the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. |
| Lun and his wife moved to Vancouver 15 years ago to start their family and professional careers here in Vancouver. They are the proud parents of three children, all at SJS. Lun serves on the Advancement Committee. He is an orthodontist, practicing in a private practice in Surrey, BC, for the past 15 years, as well as holding as Assistant Clinical professorship in the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC. Over the years, he has served as the President of the BC Society of Orthodontists, served on the Board of the Fraser Valley Dental Soceity, as well as being the President Elect of the Chinese Canadian Dental Society. |
The St. John’s School Advisory Council consists of key members of the community who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing the mission and vision of the school. The members provide institutional memory and council to the Governors as well as act as ambassadors for the school.

Mr. Botham first became involved in St. John’s in 1992, and soon became the Chair of the Board. He mobilized a group of volunteers to stabilize the school’s finances, recruited quality staff and raised the funds necessary to purchase and refurbish our current school. Now, the Botham’s first grandchild attends St. John’s. |
Mr. King served on the Board of Governors from 2005 to 2009. St. John's acquisition of land adjacent to the school for the expansion is a result of his expertise. Mr. King also helped structure our current school Trust arrangement. Currenlty, Mr. King is with Westbridge Capital.

| Mr. Mullins served on the Board of Governors from 2002 to 2009. He facilitated property acquisitions and the early stages of our building expansion approval and design. Mr. Mullins also spearheaded the school's Advancement initiatives with the Head of School. |
