Parent Association 2021 Wrap Up

Our amazing Parent Association Executive (PAE) continued to support our school community through this year with virtual events. We are hopeful that, by September, we will have the opportunity to welcome back our dedicated volunteers that we have missed this year.

Used Uniform Sale
The year started with a back-to-school used uniform sale during the summer break. With the absence of our regular uniform provider, we increased our used uniform sale in size by four times this year.

The Holidays
During the holidays, the PAE decorated our Junior and Senior schools, filling the halls with the festive spirit. The décor brought smiles and lifted the moods of our staff and students.

Grandparent's Day
For Grandparent’s Day, the PAE included tea bags with the invitations to our virutal event so that our grandparents could enjoy tea, while virtually watching student performances.

Staff Appreciation Event
To thank our wonderful teachers and staff for the incredible and necessary work they do to support, educate and nurture our children everyday, the PAE organized a staff appreciation event. Prizes were raffled off weekly to celebrate the staff, maintaining a fun spirit.

Virtual Events
Virtual events were prominent this year, with the Escape Room and Circus Party family evenings, both filled with prizes. The Junior school enjoyed a magic show before Spring Break and finished the year jamming to a Will’s Jams concert.  Although we couldn’t be together in person this year, we definitely had fun together!
Next year, we are excited to bring back events, such as the Welcome Back BBQ and the parent formal, as we continue to strengthen our St. John’s community. We look forward to seeing you at these events and welcome your interest in volunteering to help make them a success.

Our Parent Community

Our parents are the heart of the St. John’s school community. Our parents volunteer as class representatives, hot lunch coordinators, field trip chaperones, gardeners and at school events such as the Terry Fox Run, Sports Day and the Welcome Back BBQ.
