This week, SJS held two Coffee Mornings to offer parents an update on the planned transition into the Arts and Science Centre in Fall 2018 as well as shared some updates on the Junior School Renovation. Parents also had the opportunity to take a tour of the rooftop.
Over the last several months, Grade 10 students have been participating in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). Groups of students have been working with local, grassroots charities and then present a case for support to win a grant of $5,000 for their charity. Four groups were selected as finalists and on Wednesday, they presented their charity to a panel of judges.
Last week, Scientist Maiya, from BC Cancer Agency Genome Science Centre, visited our classroom. We were treated to a presentation all about Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid. That’s right, we learned all about DNA! Today, we had a special trip to the BC Cancer Agency Genome Sciences Centre.
