Music, Drama and Visual Arts are offered as core subjects and as co-curriculars. Our students are inspired by our creative and talented Arts Department in and out of the classroom.

Our school musicals and theatre productions provide fantastic opportunities for students across the grades to get involved in all aspects of the production, from performing to makeup, costumes, technical crew, poster design and more.

Our students take part in art exhibits throughout their time at St. John's, beginning from Junior Kindergarten, giving them opportunities to explore their talents and gain confidence in displaying work publicly. Similarly, students across the grades sing, play and conduct in our annual Holiday and Spring Concerts.

Honours Band students enjoy opportunities to perform on overseas trips to locations such as Los Angeles, Japan and New Orleans, allowing them to engage with other cultures while pursuing their passions.

Our Art Studio, Music Studio, Drama Studio and Design and Film Studio provide fantastic resources for students to explore the arts without limitation. Read more about our specialist spaces and facilities here.

Our Artist in Residence programme allows students and staff to explore and develop new art techniques under the guidance of a professional artist.

Students go on to receive offers from prestigious art institutions.

"In the Spring Fest Concert, I not only played saxophone but I also conducted a piece. I have to thank Mr. Deans for giving me the opportunity to conduct in front of a big audience. It was an experience of a lifetime." Carl G., '21
"Since I have joined St. John's, I have learned that I like classical music, poems and collages." Karys S., Grade 10
