Many St. John’s students are developing their leadership skills through their participation in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Designed for students aged 14-24, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award consists of three levels leading to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Students complete a personal programme of activities in volunteering, physical, skills and expeditions.

Our students are recognized at assemblies, end of year award ceremonies and, at the Gold level, by a member of the royal family. Students are expected to work independently but Ms. Marlee Carpenter, our Duke of Edinburgh's Award Coordinator, is on hand to answer any questions and support students as they organize an expedition for their Silver and Gold levels.
