Junior School Renovation

The success of our Imagine. Inspire. Create. Capital Campaign continued with the renovation of our PYP facilities, completed in the summer of 2019.

We changed the HVAC unit to improve air quality, lower energy costs and reduce noise. We also replaced the current windows with those that open and are energy efficient. The lockers were relocated along the perimeter in front of the classrooms and we created an open, collaborative common area in the centre of each floor.

Classroom lighting is now energy efficient and easier on our learners’ eyes. The Junior Kindergarten room was relocated beside the courtyard and we now have a new Junior School library and Special Educational Needs Centre.

With our Grade 6 and 7 classes now in the Arts and Science Centre, we have more space in the Junior School for experiential learning, language acquisition, collaboration and teacher preparation.

The transformation of our Junior School will allow our facility to better mirror our philosophy of supporting children with collaborative activity, creative thinking, open communication and independent exploration.
